Accessibility Upgrade in Room B of the Hymettus Environmental Awareness and Information Centre

As part of the preparatory work for the upcoming opening of the Hymettus Environmental Awareness and Information Centre, the Philodassiki Society of Athens has completed an important infrastructure project: the improvement of accessibility to Room B, located in the “Old Stable” building.

The intervention was necessary, as the previous entrance was damaged and did not provide adequate access for people with disabilities or limited mobility. The objective was to ensure a functional, safe, and inclusive space, which will soon host an exhibition sponsored by N.E.C.C.A., along with educational activities focused on biodiversity and the protection of the natural environment.

The project was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship and technical contribution of Diolkos, which fully covered the cost and carried out the construction of a new accessibility ramp, the reconstruction of the entrance, and the installation of metal railings and handrails.

The Philodassiki Society of Athens extends its sincere thanks to Diolkos for this meaningful contribution. Their support is a valuable part of our shared effort to create a space that is open, welcoming, and educational for all.
