Tree Planting & Environmental Education
On January 11th, Philodassiki, in collaboration with Wellbeingr and the children from The HOME Project, hosted a special environmental initiative at the Botanical Path of the Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest. As part of this meaningful activity, we planted a Yew Tree (Taxus baccata), which the children had decorated as a Christmas tree during the holiday season.
The event began with an engaging discussion, where we had the opportunity to introduce the children to Philodassiki’s mission and work, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection and the role they can play in preserving our forests. Following this, with our guidance, the children actively participated in planting the tree, gaining hands-on experience and a deeper appreciation for reforestation efforts.
Additionally, the children lovingly donated small cypress trees to Philodassiki’s nursery, entrusting us to nurture them as they grow. In the future, these trees will be planted in the Aesthetic Forest, contributing to its conservation.
A heartfelt thank you to @wellbeingreece and @homeprojectorg for an excellent collaboration on this initiative, which highlights the significance of experiential learning and sustainability. Together, we can foster a stronger environmental consciousness and work towards a greener future for all!
